Since the latest version of firmware always has new features, we recommend upgrading to the latest interface software too. Upgrading both sets of software is accomplished using these steps:

  • Uninstall the previous version of interface software.
  • Download and install the latest version of interface software.
  • Open the software, select the correct COM Port, and select "Upgrade Firmware" from the menu options.
  • The interface software installation contains the latest firmware and settings files. Open the firmware file that resides in the same place the interface software was installed. The firmware update will begin as soon as you connect the Dionysus Design product to a power source.
  • Once the firmware update is complete (about 1 minute), cycle the power then connect to the product using the interface software.
  • Load the latest default settings file into the device. This file is named "defaultvX.esf" where X represents the number of the firmware version. It will be located in the same place that the interface software was installed.

    TREC Firmware


    File Version Description
    Download 6.1 This contains version 5 functionality with version 3 input code to make it even more robust. It should not need any hardware upgrades to work.
    This version of firmware has just been updated. The initial 6.0 version that was placed on the website had a bug that didn't always allow mixing to automatically be turned on. We are still validating version 6.1 but so far, this should work much better.
    Download 3.0 Blinking safe start light, falling voltage compensation, improved input handling, dual gains, and more!
    Download 2.0 Fixes the mixing timing issue and it will now wait 3.5 seconds before resetting when the signal is lost.
    Download 1.0 First production release.





    USB Drivers

    DD USB Chip drivers.zip1.0 These drivers are for the USB Communications cable. They are needed for Windows 95,98,NT,2K and some versions of XP. Some XP versions will install default drivers from the operating system, so these drivers may not be needed.

    TREC Setting Files

    direct_drive.esf2.0 This throttle curve helps cure wagging with Direct Drive tail rotors and a CSM gyro on 3 cell liths.
    pgoelz_negative_expo.esf 2.0 This throttle curve was used by pgoelz with a CSM gyro.
    HB_moth_astro_normal_tail.esf 2.0 This throttle curve was used by Ivan Viggiani with a CSM gyro on 2 cell Li-Pos.
